Terrier Wrestlers Take Down East Stroudsburg, 20-17

Boston, MA-The Boston University wrestling team overcame a late deficit to defeat East Stroudsburg, 20-17, at Case Gymnasium on Saturday (Feb16th).
Junior Jose Leon (Santa Ana, CA) gave B.U. a quick 6-0 lead after he pinned Jon Clouser 3:17 into the match at 125 pounds. Freshman Joey Rivera (Stroudsburg, PA) followed up with a decisive 6-1 decision over Joey Camacho.
The Terriers went up 12-3 after Jason Holder (Salem, NH) defeated Keith Kleckner, 5-0. The Warriors staged a comeback, winning the next three matches to take a 14-12 lead.
However, senior Ali Abri (Ashland, VA) put the Terriers up for good when he recorded a major decision in the 184-pound weight class, defeating Anthony Petrock 26-12. Chad Grant (Edin Rapids, MI) extended the lead as he jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead, defeating Andrew Sheaffer 10-2.
The win is B.U.'s sixth straight, its longest winning streak since the 1996-97 season when the Terriers tallied six straight to start the season. The win also assures B.U. its highest win total in five years.
Boston University will look to continue its winning ways when it faces off against Colonial Athletic Association rival Rider on February 22nd at Case Gymnasium.
