Wrestling Terriers Defeat Binghamton, Bridgewater State In Double-Dual

BOSTON - Boston University defeated Binghamton University, 36-10, and Bridgewater State College, 50- (-1), in a double-dual match at B. U.'s Case Gym on Saturday, Dec. 6.
In the third match of the double-dual, Binghamton downed Bridgewater State, 37-3.
B. U. (3-1, 1-0 CAA) met Binghamton in both teams first Colonial Athletic Association match. Sophomore Mike Galorenzo (Oradell, N. J.), wrestling at 133 lbs., sophomore Zach Johns (Owings Mills, Md.), at 157 lbs, and freshman John DaCruz (Ludlow, Mass.), at 197 lbs., each won their matches by way of pinfall.
Senior Ben Schilens (Westlake, Ohio) won his match at 174 lbs. by technical fall, 15-0. Senior Leighton Brady (Tulsa, Okla.) slipped by his opponent at 165 by a 3-2 score, and junior Courtney Howard (Sitka, Alaska) won his heavyweight match, 9-0.
The Terriers had no problem handling Bridgewater State, winning, 50 - (-1). The Terriers took the 125, 133, and 141-lbs weights by forfeit. Blumenthal won at 149 lbs., 8-7, while Johns pinned his opponent in 3:55. Brady dominated at 165 lbs., winning by technical fall, 24-9.
Junior Warren Haines (Alexandria, Va.) won at 174 lbs by a 14-2 score. Sforza rebounded from his Binghamton loss with a 4-3 victory at 184 lbs. DaCruz won 15-0 at 197 lbs, with his opponent had a penalty point. Howard won by pinfall in 6:50 in the heavyweight class.
B. U. next wrestles at CAA rival Hofstra on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
