BOSTON - The Rider University wrestling team defeated Boston University, 22-12, in Colonial Athletic Association action at B.U.'s Case Gym on Friday, Feb. 20. The loss snaps the Terriers' 11-match win streak, their longest win streak since the 1990-91 season.

B.U. fell to 14-3, 7-2 CAA, while Rider improved to 14-3, 8-0.

Senior Jose Leon (Santa Ana, Calif.), seeing his first action of the season, defeated Rider's Bobby Stinson at 125-lbs. Also recording victories for the Terriers were junior Joey Rivera (Stroudsburg, Pa.) at 141-lbs, junior Rayes Gonzales (Las Vegas, Nev.) at 149-lbs, and senior Leighton Brady (Tulsa, Okla.) at 165-lbs.

B.U. took a 9-3 lead after four bouts, but a Dave Miller pin of sophomore Mike Galorenzo (Oradell, N.J.) at 157-lbs tied the score at 9-9. Brady followed that with a decision over Ryan Cunningham at 165 to give B.U. a short-lived 12-9 lead, but the Broncs went on to win the last four matches to take the win.

B. U. next wrestles at Harvard University on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
