Swimming and Diving Remains Undefeated with Victory over Syracuse

BOSTON - The swimming and diving program remained undefeated in dual-meet action on Saturday, as both the men's and women's squads defeated Syracuse at Competition Pool. The men won by a 134-107 margin, while the women picked up the victory with a 139-92 decision. The women earned seven first-place finishes, including two individual wins for Eve Kinsella, Brigette O'Shaughnessy and Tess Waresmith. Arik Seiler and Andre Watson were two-event winners, as the men also picked up seven first-place finishes.
On the men's side, Seiler was the top finisher in the 200 free (1:42.95) to get things going for the Terriers and Daniel Kempf came through in the 50 free (21.77). Kempf led a trio of top finishers in the 50 as Matt Rickett (21.85) and Sam Weinstein (22.30) placed second and third. Seiler also later claimed the 100 free (47.18). Kyle Ernst was an individual winner with a time of 4:45.17 in the 500 free.
The BU diving team continued its dominance as Andre Watson led a sweep of the 1M with a score of 310.50. Tanner Knorr followed in second (246.60) and Alex Caesar took third (228.12). The team did the same on the 3M board with scores of 344.48, 286.50 and 239.78, respectively.
Kempf, Rickett, Jackson Hill and Seiler closed out the afternoon with a win in the 400 free in 3:08.40.
For the women, the 200-medley relay team of Francesca Ferrante, Kristen Connors, Emily Munday and Kristen Tullis swam to a winning 1:47.78 finish to open the meet. Kinsella picked up the Terriers' first individual win of the afternoon in the 200 free (1:53.63), and Maria McIntyre followed up with victory in the 50 free (24.50). O'Shaughnessy kept the momentum going in BU's favor as she touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:08.46). Kinsella later picked up her second win with a time of 52.75 in the 100 free and O'Shaughnessy's second triumph came in the 500 free (5:00.89).
Waresmith claimed both boards with scores of 309.83 (1M) and 290.03 (3M), respectively. On the 1M, Waresmith led a sweep with Alex Crerar (240.15) and Sarah Colton (221.70) claiming second and third, respectively, and the trio duplicated the results on the 3M with another sweep.
