Freshman O'Brien Interview on BU All-Access (Nov. 20)

BOSTON - The Boston University men's basketball team will look to extend its two-game winning streak to three when the Terriers visit Northeastern in the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday (Nov. 25) at 8 p.m. in Matthews Arena. The 136th game between the two rivals in a series that dates back to 1920 will feature the current America East and Colonial Athletic Association players of the week in John Holland and Matt Janning, respectively, on a NESN telecast.

Both of the schools' women's basketball teams will face off against each other three hours earlier at 5 p.m. in the same facility.

The men hold the advantage in the all-time series, 69-66, but NU has won the last four games by an average of 10.8 points. Last season, Chaisson Allen scored 20 points and Nkem Ojougboh posted a double-double (11 pts., 11 rebs.) to push the Huskies past BU, 65-58, after only having a two-point lead at the half. Three Terriers scored in double figures in the loss - Corey Lowe (12), Matt Wolff (12) and Scott Brittain (10). In the last game in Matthews Arena, NU put on a dominating performance, winning 73-54.

Led by Janning's 19.5 ppg, the Huskies are off to a strong start this season, earning wins over IUPUI (73-60), Providence (70-66) and Holy Cross (61-49) with their one blemish coming at the hands of Michigan (76-56). Eugene Spates is first on the team in rebounding at 4.5 and is the only other one currently in double-figures at 11.5 ppg. NU is currently shooting 40.9 percent from the field, while their opponents are at 42 percent.

Sophomore John Holland, junior Corey Lowe and freshman Jake O'Brien are BU's three leading scorers. Holland averages 20.0 ppg after scoring 18 of his 26 in the second half against St. Peter's, while Lowe and O'Brien are at 14.3 and 10.3 ppg, respectively. Senior Matt Wolff leads the team in rebounds at 8.3 rpg and in steals with nine total.

The Terriers finally got out of their shooting rut against the Peacocks when they hit 44.9 percent of their attempts after shooting below 35.0 percent in the first two games. Opponents are at 42.9 percent from the field but have had fewer opportunities to score as a result of committing an average of 22.3 turnovers per game.

BU will continue its three-game road trip on Saturday (Nov. 29) with a visit to Mount St. Mary's for the Mountaineers home opener. Like the Terriers, they are also celebrating their 100th season. The game is set for 7 p.m.
