
Swimming and Diving Sweeps AE Weekly Awards

Cambridge, Mass. - After leading their teams to sweeps of Maine on Saturday, Boston University's junior Bryan Kallert and freshman Lauren Drake have captured the Swimmer of the Week awards while their teammates junior Tanner Knorr and freshman Melinda Matyas garner the Diver of the Week honors for the week ending October 25.
Kallert claimed two individual titles and one second-place relay finish against Maine. In the 200 fly, Kallert led the Terrier men in a sweep of the event, touching first in 1:56.92. He claimed his second victory in the 100 free with a time of 46.98. Swimming the third leg of the 200-medley relay, Kallert also earned a second-place finish.
To start her second meet of her career, Drake anchored the 200-medley relay team that claimed first in 1:45.37. Drake then led BU's sweep of the 50 free, finishing in 24.20. She also captured the 500 free title and touched first in the 200 IM in 2:10.92, seven seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Knorr captures his second diving honor of the season after posting two top diving scores against Maine. With a score of 283.35, Knorr claimed the top spot in the one-meter board. Knorr also won the three-meter dive, earning a score of 313.28.
Earning the second-straight diving award of her collegiate career, Matyas swept the diving events for the second-straight week. Matyas won the one-meter with a score of 284.33. She also topped the competition in the three-meter, posting a score of 295.95.
