Wrestling Closes Regular Season with Split in New Jersey

LAWRENCEVILLE and PRINCETON, N.J. - The Boston University wrestling team closed out its regular season this weekend with a pair of duals in New Jersey, dropping a 23-13 decision at Rider on Friday before posting a 37-7 victory at Princeton on Saturday. The Terriers, who finish with a 7-8-1 dual record, now look ahead to the CAA Championships, which will take place on March 6-7 in Chesapeake, Va.
Senior Mike Roberts (149), sophomore John Hall (197) and freshmen Ryan Dowd (125) and Hunter Meys (174) each won both their matches.
Roberts picked up a 13-5 major decision in one of the Terriers' four individual wins against Rider and then pinned his Princeton opponent the following day.
Hall came away with a 1-0 victory in the Rider dual against Mike Miller and followed that up with a second-period pin against Princeton's Zachary Morse.
Dowd earned a pair of hard-fought wins, edging Rider's Filiberto Colon, 6-5, before posting a 7-5 decision over Princeton's Robert Benitez.
Against Rider, Meys came through with a 7-3 win over Mike Ward and then registered a 10-4 win over Travis Erdman in the Princeton dual.
In addition to forfeit wins at 133 and 141, the Terriers got wins from junior C.J. Inglin (165) and senior Jim Connors (285) in their rout of the Tigers.
