
Golf Finishes 10th at Third-Annual Roar-EE Invitational

SUFFERN, N.Y. - In the final tuneup before the America East Championship, the Boston University golf team placed 10th at the Roar-EE Invitational, as the squad carded a 681 in the two-day invite at the 72-par, 6,018-yard Spook Rock Golf Course. Senior Allison Hamilton led the Terriers with a t-39th result.
The co-captain paced BU's efforts carding an 82 on Saturday, a three-shot improvement from her 85 on Friday, for a two-day total of 167. Classmate Lauren Stong had the second-best result at t-44th with a 170 (84-86).
Princeton won the overall competition at 612, and Fairleigh Dickinson's Eva Mayr had the top overall performance at 150 (71-79).
Junior Kaitlyn Mardeusz finished one stroke behind Stong at 171 (86-85), while sophomore Ana Johnson had a slow start to the event but finished the final 11 holes at 2-over par to post a total of 173 (90-83). Freshman Courtney Dampolo showed the greatest signs of improvement on Saturday, lowering her Friday score by 10 strokes, to finish at 184 (97-87).
The Terriers return to the links on Saturday (April 25) to compete in the two-day America East Championship at Shaker Ridge in Loudonville, N.Y. Hamilton and Stong will play No. 1 and 2, respectively, in their final college tournament.
