Taffur Named CAA Rookie of the Week

Freshman Nestor Taffur of the Boston University wrestling team has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week. The 149-pound grappler won all three of his matches on the weekend, including a fall against Sacred Heart's Andrew Cohen to improve to 3-0 against conference opponents.
On Saturday, Taffur opened the weekend with an 8-6 decision over East Stroudsburg's Eddie Stephenson in the Terriers' home opener. Later that day, Taffur posted a 6-4 win against Andrey Patselov of North Dakota State.
BU posted a 29-16 road win over Sacred Heart on Sunday and got six of its points from Taffur's pin.
On the year, Taffur has an overall record of 12-11, including a 5-3 mark in duals.
