Sophomore Katie Matthews was named the most valuable player for the 2009 Boston University women's cross country team after being the top finisher in all of the top races during the season.
Placed on the America East's All-Academic team, Matthews placed eighth at the America East Championships and 17th at the New England Championships.
She ended the season at the NCAA Regionals, taking 34th overall.
