CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston University men's swimming and diving team defeated crosstown rival Boston College, 172-125, on Tuesday evening.
The Terriers won 9-of-16 events, including a 1-2-3 sweep of the 50 free, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke, and Kyle Ernst took first place in two individual events (100 & 200 breaststroke).
Both relay teams won as the 200 medley relay clocked in at 1:34.89, and the 400 free touched in 3:11.02.
Ernst led sweeps of both breaststrokes, finishing in 58.51 and 2:06.99 in the 100 and 200, respectively. In the 100 breast, Andrew Guinther and Nate Everett took second and third, while Everett finished second in the 200 and Guinther placed third.
Justin Gilmartin led the way in the 50 free with a blazing time of 53.22, and Matt Rickett and Kempf were close behind with second and third place finishes. Rickett later won the 100 fly in 50.52.
The final individual winner in the pool for the Terriers was rookie Nik Astashinsky who was victorious in the 200 back with a time of 1:53.93.
On the diving boards, Tanner Knorr picked up a win on the 1M with a score of 250.00.
