
Wrestling Posts 27-12 Victory at Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Boston University wrestling team opened the second half of its season on Friday with a 27-12 victory at Franklin & Marshall to improve to 5-1 on the year.
Seven Terriers recorded wins in the dual, including bonus victories by sophomore Bubba McGinley (125) and senior Fred Santaite (133).
McGinley opened the match by securing a 21-5 technical fall against David Hershberger with just 19 seconds left in their match at 125. Santaite followed with a 16-4 major decision over Robert Ruiz.
After freshman Tyler Scotton was edged, 2-0, by Richard Durso at 141, junior Nestor Taffur started a BU run with a hard-fought 14-11 decision over Andrew Murgano in the 149-pound bout.
Sophomore Nick Tourville followed with a 6-2 triumph against Eric Norgard and junior Kyle Czarnecki stretched the BU lead to 21-3 when he won by forfeit at 165.
The Diplomats tried to stage a late rally, getting a 3-1 victory by Matt Fullowan over junior Hunter Meys at 174 and an injury forfeit win from Matt Latessa at 184 in his match with sophomore Alex Najjar, but the Terriers ended those hopes with wins at 197 and 285.
Senior John Hall posted a 6-1 victory over Colin Ely at 197 and sophomore Kevin Innis closed the match with a 7-3 decision versus Alexander Henry.
BU, which has won five straight dual matches, will return to action on Saturday (Jan. 7) when it visits Millersville. First match will begin at 10 a.m.
