PHILADELPHIA - The Boston University wrestling team competed at the Keystone Classic on Sunday and got third-place finishes from senior Kyle Czarnecki (174) and redshirt junior Nestor Taffur (157). Sophomore Tyler Scotton (141) placed fourth at the tournament, which was hosted by Penn.

Twelve wrestlers competed for the Terriers, who accumulated 47 points to tie for ninth in the 15-team tournament.

After falling in the semifinals to top-seeded Jason Welch (Northwestern), Taffur advanced to the third-place match with a 9-5 win over Stephen Robertson (Penn). He defeated Rider's Zac Cibula for the second time in the tournament to earn the third-place finish.

At 174, Czarnecki also dropped a semifinal match to a top-seeded Northwestern wrestler (7-1 to Lee Muenster) before rebounding in the wrestlebacks. He topped Collin Hedash (Appalachian St.), 6-1, before taking third with a 7-2 triumph over Penn's Ian Korb.

Scotton won five of his seven matches on the day with both losses coming to Harvard's Steven Keith, including a 8-0 major decision in the third-place match at 141. He put together three straight wins in the consolation bracket, capped by a 5-4 win in the first tiebreaker over Northwestern's Pat Greco.

Sophomore Peter Ishiguro and freshman Colin Saunders each earned two victories at 149 and senior Hunter Meys picked up two wins, including a pin, at 197.

The Terriers will return to action on Sunday, Dec. 2, when they compete at the Nittany Lion Open at Penn State.
