Wrestling Rallies for 23-22 Victory over Princeton

BOSTON - Senior John Hall and sophomore Kevin Innis helped BU erase a 22-15 deficit in the final two matches, as the Terriers defeated Princeton, 23-22, at Case Gym on Friday night. BU improves to 12-4 on the season with the victory.
Hall earned a 17-2 technical fall to improve to 11-0 and bring BU within two at 22-20. Innis then provided his usual heroics, as he earned an 11-5 decision to clinch a Terrier victory for the third time this season and improve to 15-3 overall.
The night began on a positive note for BU, as sophomore Bubba McGinley pinned Ryan Cash 2:20 into the first period at 125. Senior Fred Santaite improved to 11-0 with an 8-4 decision over Chris Perez to extend the Terriers’ lead to 9-0.
Princeton came back to tie the score, 9-9, after sophomore B.J. Suitor (141) was pinned at 4:15 and freshman Tyler Scotton (149) dropped a hard-fought 8-4 decision. The Tigers then took the lead after Daniel Kolodzik earned a technical fall against sophomore Nick Tourville at 157.
Freshman Mitchell Wightman regained the lead for the Terriers at 165, as he pinned Rich Eva 1:59 into the first period to put BU ahead, 15-14. Junior Kyle Czarnecki was up next at 174, and despite a valiant effort he lost a 5-3 decision. The Tigers then got a technical fall against senior Andrew Swank to take a 22-15 lead into the final two matches before Hall and Innis provided their late magic.
The Terriers will return to action on Saturday as they welcome Drexel to Case Gym at 3 p.m.
