After winning all three of his matches at the CAA Duals on Saturday and knocking off the top two 157-pound wrestlers in the conference in the process, redshirt junior Nestor Taffur of the Boston University wrestling team has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
All three of his matches came down to the wire, but Taffur was up to the task and was named CAA Co-Wrestler of the Week for his efforts. He opened with a 2-1 win over 18th-ranked John Nicholson in the second tiebreaker and then earned a 4-2 victory against Hofstra's Tyler Banks. Taffur capped his perfect day with a 5-3 overtime triumph against George Mason's Jaaziah Bethea to improve to 22-6 on the year.
Taffur is enrolled in the Metropolitan College, majoring in management studies.
