
Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to Yale, 186-114

BOSTON - The Boston University men's swimming and diving team fell to Yale, 186-114, in BU's last meet of 2013 on Saturday afternoon at the Competition Pool. BU's dual meet record is now even at 2-2 for the season.
Juniors Connor Stuewe and Ryan Bach teamed up with freshmen Austin Dickey and Brian Habacivch in the 200 medley relay to place second (1:32.78) in the first race of the day.
Junior Alec Pokornowski led BU in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:47.02 to take fourth while classmate Andy Vazquez placed fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:43.92).
Stuewe earned BU's first win of the day in the 100 backstroke (50.62) while Dickey claimed the next event, the 100 breaststroke (55.90). Sophomore Mun Hon Lee then led the Terriers with a third-place showing in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 1:52.36.
Junior Cole Puchi claimed a pair of third-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (21.64) and 100 freestyle (46.76) while Stuewe later returned to take second (1:50.73) in the 200 backstroke.
Dickey (2:06.82) and junior Mario Caballero (2:08.97) placed second and third, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke. Senior Jeff Thomas then posted the top time for the Terriers in the 500 freestyle, clocking in at 4:42.85.
Sophomore Brandon Weiss was the top diver for BU with a second-place finish on the 1m board (263.77). Classmate Austin Kruger took sixth (147.67) in the 1m event.
Having already secured the victory, the Bulldogs chose to exhibition in the remaining events. Lee won the 100 butterfly (50.92) and 200 IM (1:55.86) while the team of Puchi, Vazquez, Stuewe and Habacivch finished first in the 400 freestyle relay (3:06.85).
BU concludes 2013 with a 2-2 record in dual meets and will travel to Puerto Rico in early January for its annual training trip. The Terriers return to the pool on Jan. 25, when they will participate in a pod meet with George Mason, Army and American in Fairfax, Va.
