BOSTON -
The Boston University Department of Athletics has announced that its wrestling program will move to the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) for its final season in 2013-14. The Terriers had competed in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) for the past 12 seasons.
BU is making the move from the CAA to the EIWA along with Binghamton, Drexel and Hofstra to create an 18-team conference. The 14 schools which currently comprise the EIWA are American, Army, Brown, Bucknell, Cornell, Columbia, Franklin & Marshall, Harvard, Lehigh, Navy, Princeton, Penn, Rutgers and Sacred Heart.
One of the most storied athletic conferences in college sports, the EIWA celebrated its 109th year in 2012-13 and produced 45 NCAA qualifiers, including six All-Americans.
