
Terriers Conclude Day One of Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - After day one of the Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships, the Boston University women's swimming and diving team sits in second place with 104 points while the BU men's swimming and diving team is tied for second place with Army (66 points).
Day one of action at Lejeune Hall on the campus of Navy consisted of the finals in the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays along with the women's 3m diving. The Navy women (108 points) and men (80 points) are in first place.
Senior Chelsea Glincman led the Terriers on the first day, as she captured the women's 3m diving title with a total of 269.15 points. Freshman Kalli Roebelen also earned points for the Terriers with a fourth-place finish after posting a score of 233.15.
The Terriers took home second place in the 800 freestyle relay with senior Kendra Cheng, sophomores Mika Spencer and Stephanie Nasson along with freshman Lauren Dixon posting a school-record time of 7:21.82.
The BU women also placed fifth in the 200 medley relay, with the quartet of Cheng, junior Avery Visser, sophomore Karla Ferrara and freshman Christy Wilde clocking in at 1:44.76.
On the men's side, the Terriers' also broke the school record in the 800 freestyle relay with senior Jeff Thomas teaming up with juniors Andy Vazquez, Connor Stuewe and Cole Puchi to place second with a time of 6:31.96.
The foursome of Stuewe, junior Ryan Bach and freshmen Austin Dickey and Brian Habacivch claimed third with a time of 1:29.10 in the 200 medley relay.
Day two of competition begins on Thursday (Feb. 20) with preliminaries at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. The finals will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
