Saturday, Feb. 16, will be City of Boston Day at BU, as Beantown residents will receive complimentary admission to all six ticketed Terrier events on campus that day, thanks to BU's Office of Government & Community Affairs and the Department of Athletics. Doubleheaders will be held at Nickerson Field (men's and women's lacrosse), Case Gym (men's and women's basketball), and Agganis Arena (men's and women's ice hockey), all of which are located within a two-minute walk of each other.
City residents simply need to register online at this link at www.GoTerriers.com/BostonDay and tickets will be waiting for them at the ticket will-call location at the venue for the game(s). Requests must be submitted online by 5 p.m. Friday, unless capacity is reached sooner.
"This is a great opportunity for city residents to watch Boston University men's and women's lacrosse, basketball and ice hockey games free of charge in celebration of City of Boston Day," said Mayor Walsh. "Our student-athletes can be terrific role models for Boston's youth and I'm grateful for the generosity of Boston University and its athletic department during the first weekend of BPS school vacation week."
Any fan who attends all six games will be eligible to enter to win a $500 Visa gift card. Fans must utilize the free Terrier Rewards Zone app and check-in once inside each venue during the games to be eligible for the gift card as well as to earn additional prizes.
"We believe that part of the mission of BU Athletics is to engage our community, and a packed slate of games presents a perfect opportunity to invite our neighbors, welcome them onto our campus and to join us in cheering for the Terriers," Director of Athletics Drew Marrochello said. "With this being the first weekend of February vacation, we would especially love to see local families in attendance for any or all of the six ticketed games at BU that day."
The festivities begin at noon with Men's Lacrosse at Nickerson Field, and conclude with Men's Ice Hockey at 7 p.m. at Agganis Arena (full schedule below). Parking is available at Langsam Garage and public transportation stops near the venues with the MBTA Green "B" line stops at Babcock Street or Pleasant Street, or the MBTA 57, 47 and CT2 Bus Routes (visit www.MBTA.com for more information).
