BOSTON - More than 2,000 alumni and supporters participated last week in Terriers Together: Funding the Future of BU Athletics, ultimately raising $636,320 for the department over the course of the campaign.
 
Over 1,100 of the donations came from alumni and nearly 500 of those were young alumni from the Classes of 2011-20.
 
"This incredible generosity from Terrier Nation made for an uplifting week across our department," said director of athletics Drew Marrochello. "As we all navigate these uncertain times, it's incredibly heartwarming to see our alumni and supporters come together to invest in our future."
 
Bonus funds were earned by teams through challenges for the highest number of donors each day as well as alumni and young alumni totals and percentages.
 
Funding was graciously provided by Carrie & Tim Burr (MET'97) and Charley Lax (Questrom'82), who provided alumni and young alumni challenge gifts, respectively, along with Mary Buletza (Questrom'80), who matched the first 750 unique alumni donors, dollar for dollar up to $25, directly to their teams.
 
"Our challenge donors were integral to the success of this campaign, and I can't thank Tim, Charley and Mary enough for their devotion to making our student-athlete experience a special one," added Marrochello. "I'd also like to thank Scott Graham and the BU development staff for their hard work in putting this campaign together and executing it. Our coaches did a wonderful job of reaching out to their supporters while also making new connections that will be invaluable."
