June 29, 2021

Returning for a 13th year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.

Kicking off things at No. 12 in this year's Terrier 12 are the men's and women's swimming & diving programs posting undefeated seasons on their way to the Patriot League Challenge title. Each squad went 3-0 during the regular season before taking the top spot in the Patriot League Challenge vs. Holy Cross and Colgate to conclude the year.

The men's team won each dual meet by at least 30 points, and won the Patriot League Challenge by 628 points. The women's team also went undefeated, highlighted by a thrilling win vs. UMass in a dual meet that came down to the final event, and secured the Patriot League Challenge title by 235 points.

Emily Balicanta was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team and collected PL Diver of the Week honors three times. Additionally, she earned five individual wins between the one-meter and three-meter diving events during the four-meet season. Sydney Lee won at least two individual races during the regular season, and came away with eight first-place finishes.

Sarsen Whatmore also dominated, taking three free events twice and recorded seven individual wins on the season. Michael Nejaime and Teddy McCarthy were also strong on the diving boards, as each was recognized as the PL Diver of the Week during the regular season.
