FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Boston University women's golf team closed out its season with its highest-ever NCAA Regional finish as the Terriers placed 11th at the Franklin Regional after a final-round score of 301.
BU posted a 900 (297-302-201) over the three days, crushing their previous best NCAA Regional score of 932 from 2015.
For the second consecutive day, freshman
Christy Chen led the way for the Terriers, shooting an even-par 72 to finish tied for 27th at plus-4. Sophomore
Flair Kuan was the BU's top finisher as her final-round score of 76 landed her in a tie for 21st at plus-3.
Senior
Hanako Kawasaki wrapped up her BU career with a round of 75 and finished the tournament tied for 48th at plus-12. Freshman
Victoria Takai closed out with a 78 - her best round of the tournament - and tied for 64th. Junior
Alice Fan turned in a 2-over round of 74 but was disqualified for signing her scorecard with a wrong score for one of the holes.
The Terriers finished four strokes behind 10th-place Kent State and 30 strokes ahead of 12th-place Austin Peay. Tournament host Vanderbilt emerged victorious and Alabama, Wake Forest and Texas A&M will join the Commodores in the NCAA Championships.
BU finished 17th at both of their two previous NCAA Regional appearances in 2015 and 2019.
