BOSTON – Boston University Athletics announced today a series of featured televised broadcasts of select BU women's competitions on NESN during the 2023-24 academic year.

Dubbed Fifty Forward, the series of live televised games will help build on the forward momentum coming out of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX last year while showcasing the broad-based excellence of the women's teams at BU. Last academic year, BU won the Patriot League Women's Presidents' Cup for the sixth time in 10 years, helping fuel the overall department to the highest win percentage of all Division I schools in Massachusetts in NCAA-sponsored sports.

"We are proud to partner with NESN on airing this series of live telecasts that highlights our outstanding women's programs," said director of athletics Drew Marrochello. "By offering a wide range of sports in the Fifty Forward series, we hope to give the NESN audience a closer look into our teams while promoting their successes from the past half-century."

The first matchup in the series will take place on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m. when BU hosts crosstown rival Northeastern in field hockey at New Balance Field on NESN+. Then, BU women's soccer will host Yale on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. on NESN. Both games will also be streamed on ESPN+ and there will be four other dates announced with basketball, softball, lacrosse and rowing also included in the series. In addition, the BU women's ice hockey team will be featured on NESN this year as part of the Hockey East broadcast package.
