BU Athletics Sets Department GPA Records in 2023-24

BOSTON - The Boston University Department of Athletics reached new academic highs in 2023-24 as the student-athlete body posted a record-breaking 3.42 grade-point average for the year following a spring department GPA of 3.43.
All 24 varsity programs earned a GPA 3.0 or above for the year with women's golf leading the way at 3.75, edging out women's tennis (3.74). Women's tennis posted the top GPA for the spring semester at 3.79. Men's basketball had the largest improvement from the fall, raising its average by 0.19.
After posting a 3.41 department GPA in the fall, this marks the first time ever that BU Athletics has been over a 3.4 in both semesters of an academic year. BU student-athletes have now combined for a GPA of 3.2 or higher in 15 straight semesters.
Over 84 percent of the student-athlete body had a GPA of 3.0 or above for the spring semester. Additionally, 66 student-athletes finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring.
