Sullo Claims Bronze in Mile; Terriers Finish Fourth at PL Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Highlighted by sophomore Giovanni Sullo's second podium appearance in as many years, the Boston University men's swimming & diving team placed fourth at the 2026 Patriot League Championships, which wrapped up on Saturday at Lelejune Hall.
Sullo repeated his bronze performance from a year ago in the 1650-yard freestyle, posting a time of 15:22.64, just ahead of classmate Charles Schreiner, who finished in fourth in a time of 15:26.65.
Sophomore Gannon Flynn placed eighth in 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:59.9 while senior Tony Ponomarev closed his career with an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (1:47.98). Sophomore Charlie Nenchev was the team's top performer in the 100-yard freestyle, placing 11th in a time of 44.86.
BU placed fourth in the team standings, improving on their fifth-place showing from a year ago.
