Chiara Tibbitt (CAS'22) - Women's Basketball
February 3, 2026 | General, Women's Basketball
- Served as president of the BU Student-Athletes of Color group
- Received basketball team's Legacy Award based on impact on the court, in the locker room, and in the BU Athletics community
- Graduated from the College of Arts & Sciences with a degree in international relations
- Currently serves as a senior investment banking analyst at Aon
- Why did you choose to attend BU? "I chose to attend Boston University in 2018 because it offered the best of both worlds: strong academics and a highly competitive athletic environment. I knew I wanted to stay in the Northeast and was already somewhat familiar with Boston, which made the transition feel exciting rather than intimidating. BU's wide range of academic programs also stood out to me, as I wasn't certain what I wanted to study and appreciated the flexibility to explore. As a bonus, I loved the idea of experiencing all four seasons in a city setting."
- What did you enjoy most about your BU experience? "What I enjoyed most about my time at BU was the opportunity to grow in different roles—both as a student-athlete and as a person. Living with my teammates and spending countless hours together, especially in the locker room, created bonds I'll always value. Looking back, it's the growth both on and off the court that stands out most, along with the connections I made with other student-athletes that helped me build a community beyond just women's basketball."
- How did your time at BU prepare you to get to where you are today? "BU taught me how to balance competing priorities—academics, athletics, and leadership within athletic groups—while still performing at a high level. It also helped me learn the importance of asking thoughtful questions at the right time. Many of my courses required active engagement with professors, which meant coming prepared and advocating for myself. That mindset carried over to athletics as well, knowing when and how to communicate with coaches and trainers. BU reinforced for me that there are no "dumb" questions when they're asked with intention."
- Why is it meaningful for you to be involved with the University, Athletics, and Terrier Basketball as an alumnus? "Being involved as an alumna is meaningful to me because I believe in giving back. I was fortunate to spend four years at BU and leave with an overall positive experience, and I want future student-athletes to have the same opportunities. Staying connected allows me to see how the program continues to evolve and support the next generation of Terriers, while supporting the community and culture that played such a formative role in my life."
