153rd BU Commencement Includes 135 Student-Athletes

BOSTON – A total of 135 student-athletes participated in graduation ceremonies on Sunday as part of Boston University's 153rd commencement exercises.
BU alum Reshma Kewalramani (CAS'98, CAMED'98, Hon.'26), president and CEO of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, delivered the All-University commencement speech before 5,000 BU graduates and approximately 20,000 guests. BU Athletic Hall of Famer Patricia K. Donahue MD (SAR'58) was one of five individuals who received honorary degrees from President Melissa Gilliam.
Following all of the festivities, student-athletes with friends and family gathered together at the BU Softball Field for a reception hosted by Director of Athletics Drew Marrochello.
The seniors of the track & field, men's rowing and softball teams were unable to attend due to competing at Patriot League Championships, Eastern Sprints and NCAA Regionals, respectively. The University hosted an intimate ceremony for those student-athletes and their families on Monday morning at Case Gym. Gilliam joined Marrochello and Amie Grills, Associate Provost for Undergraduate Affairs, in delivering a meaningful message to those in attendance.
Listed below are the six student-athletes who were inducted into Scarlet Key honor society.

Kabran Clark (men's lacrosse)
Brooke Deppiesse (softball)
Haley Newman (women's swimming & diving)
Amalia Preece (field hockey)
Kasey Ricard (softball)
Clara Yuhn (women's ice hockey)
The Latin honors for the Class of 2026 will be announced during the week of May 25.
