June 29, 2026 | General
Returning for an 18th year, the Terrier Twelve recognizes the top achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Monday and Thursday this summer as we unveil this year's Terrier Twelve on GoTerriers.com.
Kicking off the Terrier Twelve is the record-breaking year for financial support for Athletics at Boston University, helping support student-athletes and provide them with a first-class experience at a world-class institution.
For the first time ever, the Athletics Annual Fund crossed the $2.5 million threshold thanks to a plethora of generous donations from friends, family and alumni. Once again, Athletics led the way on Giving Day, surpassing $1 million on the University's annual day for the ninth straight year.
Overall, 2,500+ donors raised $1,277,343 for Athletics on Giving Day. Inside the department, participation was also at high levels, highlighted by contributions from 100 percent of the current student-athlete body. As a whole, the University crossed the $5 million threshold for the first time in history.
Four teams—softball, women's rowing, men's soccer and men's basketball—all set program records for dollars raised in 2025-26.
The department also benefited from multiple major gifts, including a $500,000 estate provision from a men's hockey season ticket holder toward Friends of BU Hockey. In addition, 12 commitments of $100,000 or more were received in support of Athletics priorities and 19 parents of student-athletes made commitments of $10,000 or more, the most ever in a single fiscal year.
This record-breaking support is crucial for the department, as it will aid Athletics with team travel, facility upgrades such as locker room renovations and ongoing capital projects, as well as critical department initiatives.
