A native of Amherst, MA, Miriam was one of Sargent College's
outstanding all-around athletes during the early Thirties.
Competing in interclass matchups, she played basketball, baseball,
field hockey, lacrosse, fistball, and ran track. One of the
highlights of her career was receiving Sargent's Tnegras Award
her senior year.
Following graduation, she embarked on a career teaching high
school physical education in the Auburn, NY and Springfield,
MA school systems. She retired from the teaching profession
at 55, and after spending time in Arizona, she moved to Florida.
Miriam continued to be active in sports, and as a member
of the Appalachian Mountain Club, she hiked many of the Appalachian
Trails.
