Sport: Multiple
Year Graduated: 1953
Year Inducted: 1988

Janet Demars, whose athletic skills carried her from the camps of Sargent College to the playing fields of Europe and Australia, competed and excelled in three different varsity sports in the early 1950s.
Between the years of 1950-53 she participated in a total of twelve athletic seasons. Her efforts were instrumental in the successes of Sargent's basketball, volleyball, and fistball teams.

However, Janet's involvement in sports did not end upon graduation. For 20 years she was a first-team member of both the Boston Field Hockey Association and the Boston Women's Lacrosse Association. In addition she was a six-year member of the United States Women's Lacrosse Association. In 1964, and again in 1969, Janet was selected to the USWLA touring team which competed in Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and various other locations throughout the world.

This experience on the playing field provided her with the necessary knowledge to successfully work on the administrative level as well. She served as an umpire for both the BFHA and the USWLA. Janet also was a six-year high school field hockey coach, and held a similar position on the collegiate level.
