A product of St. Columbkille High, where he played football,
basketball, and track while earning "All-Catholic"
football honors, Bob moved on to Boston University where he
was an outstanding two-way tackle for Steve Sinko from 1958-1960.
In his senior year, he was named to the All-New England, All-East,
and All-America squads. He was then selected to play in the
"All-America Bowl".
Following graduation in 1961, he played for Hamilton and
then Montreal in the Canadian Football League where he was
named to the All-League team.
