Men's Lacrosse Mentorship Program
Boston University Men's Lacrosse Mentorship Program
The Boston University men’s lacrosse program recently launched a mentorship program to assist our student-athletes in their career development. With the help of alumni and friends of the program, each student-athlete on the men's lacrosse team has been paired with a mentor in their field of professional interest.
Our coaching staff encourages and helps develop dialogue between the mentor and mentee throughout the year. Depending on the year of the student-athlete, the dialogue has a different focus. There is more of a focus on interview preparedness and the job search with upperclassmen, while underclassmen discuss more career path options and preparing for a career while at BU. But no matter the student-athlete's graduation year, these relationships can go in any direction the mentor or mentee see fit for the student-athlete’s development as a person.
The goal is to assist these young men in securing employment during their time here at BU and beyond. As we continue to raise the standard of what it means to be a BU men’s lacrosse player, we hope this program allows for brighter and more positive experiences with each group of men we send into the world.
If you are interested in participating in the program as a mentor or inquiring about our student-athletes, please reach out to Coach Polley at rpolley@bu.edu.
