About the Bloom Family
The Bloom Family Leadership Academy helps coaches and athletic administrators develop their next generation of student-athlete leaders. The Academy was started in Fall 2013 as a result of a commitment by Boston University alumnus William Bloom (CGS'82 and SMG'84). Bloom, a former BU rugby player, is a member of the Boston University's Athletic Director's Council and also serves as the Athletics Campaign Co-Chair and a Boston University Overseer.
"The Patriot League's high academic standard, quality of competition and focus on leadership training really framed this opportunity for me," said Bloom prior to the start of the first session. "Leadership infers teamwork and the many life lessons that can be learned through competition. My past with BU rugby, my current association with the athletic department and our school's future with the Patriot League made this a very clear choice for how our family wanted to contribute back to the University."
