1970s

WROW: Back-to-back national titles in 1974-75 

1980s

WBB: Debbie Miller ‘81 becomes program's first All-American  

WS&D: Claims the 1981 New England Championship  

WT&F: Julie White, who competed in 1976 Olympics as a 16-year-old before coming to BU, wins NCAA indoor pentathlon in 1982  

WROW: First of three Eastern Sprints titles in 1983  

FH: Advanced to 1985 NCAA semifinals  

WBB: 1987-88 team becomes first to win 20 games, captures first conference title (Seaboard)

WS&D: Sybil Smith became first (and only Terrier on either women’s or men’s side) to earn All-America honors with sixth-place finish in 100 back at 1988 NCAAs  

WTEN: Lesley Sheehan becomes first Terrier to qualify for NCAA singles tournament (1983* won first-round match, 1984)  

WTEN: Won first conference title in fall 1989

1990s

WXC: Team captured 9 of 10 America East titles in 1990s 

WROW: Back-to-back national titles in 1991-92; also won Eastern Sprints both years

WT&F: Jennifer Lanctot wins 1991 NCAA title in indoor mile

FH: Won first NAC title in 1991 and advanced to NCAA quarterfinals

SB: Won first conference title in 1992 & also claimed 1992 ECAC title 

WTEN: 1994-95 squad earned BU’s first national team ranking, ranked as high as No. 40 and finished year No. 4 in 94-team Eastern Region 

WBB: Jill Sosnak ‘95 becomes a two-time All-American

WTEN: Earned first NCAA bid in Spring 1999

WROW: Made first NCAA appearance in 1999 


2000s

WSOC: Goes 9-0 in America East play to win the program’s first conference title in 2000 before defeating Holy Cross in NCAA Tournament play-in game

WBB: Led by all-time leading scorer Katie Terhune, 2002-03 team wins first America East championship to advance to first NCAA Tournament

WGOLF: Back-to-back America East titles (2005 & 2006)

WLAX: Starts a run of five straight America East titles and reaches NCAA quarterfinals for first time (2005)

WSOC: Defeated No. 3 Santa Clara, 1-0, on Sept. 15, 2006, in Stanford, Calif.

FH: Program-record 18 wins in 2007; defeated Big Ten champ Iowa to reach NCAA quarterfinals

WBB: 2008-09 team goes undefeated in America East play (16-0), program-record 25 wins

WS&D: Ended 14-year drought with 2009 America East title 

SB: Eliminated Iowa & Auburn to reach 2009 NCAA regional finals 

WT&F: Tahari James '09 becomes a three-time All-American in the triple jump 
 

2010s 

WIH: Captures program's first Hockey East title (2010)

SB: April Setterlund (‘11) becomes three-time All-American, culminating with first-team honors

WIH: Advances to the 2011 and 2013 NCAA title games and wins four straight Hockey East titles (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015)

WROW: Wins first Patriot League title and advances to NCAAs (2014)

WGOLF:  First PL title and first NCAA appearance (2015)

WSOC: Captures the program’s third straight Patriot League championship then defeats St. John’s 2-1 on the road in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (2015) 

WLROW: Capture first Eastern Sprints title in 2016; Amy Connell and Cynthia Herrera won BU’s first national title in double scull at 2016 IRAs

WGOLF: Emily Tillo (2016 NCAA Woman of the Year finalist)

SB: Upsets top-ranked Oklahoma (2018)

WLROW: Defeated No. 1 Stanford on Charles River in 2018 and later earned first No. 1 ranking

WGOLF: 2019 PL title behind freshman Hanako Kawasaki (PL Golfer & Rookie of the Year)

WLROW: Only rowing team to medal in all three events at 2019 IRAs, including gold in the double scull

2020s

WTEN: Shelly Yaloz & Kaitlin Tan won first-ever NCAA team tournament doubles match at LSU (2021)
