Boston University’s Department of Athletics serves as a source of spirit and pride for the campus with roughly 600 student-athletes competing at the highest level of college athletics in 24 NCAA Division I varsity sports. The Terriers compete in the Patriot League, Hockey East (ice hockey), and the EARC (men's rowing). To learn more about the department, click here.

The Terriers are no strangers to the NCAA Tournament. In 2023-24, BU men's ice hockey, softball, men's tennis, men's soccer, women's rowing, and track & field and cross country all competed on the national stage after standout seasons. |

Learn more here. | In 2023-24, BU was one of only 20 NCAA Division I institutions to achieve a perfect Athletic Equality Index (AEI) score of 100 over the past year. The score is calculated by measuring LGBTQ+ inclusion policies and practices in NCAA athletic departments, providing a snapshot of how schools are supporting their student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans. |
