Eamonn Ryan joined the Boston University staff in September 2024. As the Assistant Director, Strategic Communications, he serves as the primary contact for the men's basketball, women's lacrosse and men's tennis programs, while also contributing to the athletic department's graphic design and digital strategy efforts.
Ryan arrived to Comm. Ave. after graduating from Northeastern University in May 2024 with a bachelor of arts in journalism. Concurrently, he spent a year as the Northeastern Athletics Jack Grinold Athletic Communications Intern, working primarily with the track & field and cross country, women's swimming & diving and field hockey programs, beginning in August 2023. He also assisted heavily with the women's hockey and men's basketball programs, including providing coverage for the first Women's Beanpot championship game to be played at TD Garden. Previously, Ryan had served as an athletic communications co-op from July 2021 to December 2021.
In between his stints with Northeastern Athletics, Ryan also spent the summer of 2023 on Cape Cod with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he covered the team as a beat writer and worked on graphic design and social media strategy. He contributed to the sports desk of the Boston Globe from July 2022 to May 2024, covering Eastern Massachusetts high school sports.
A native of Hooksett, New Hampshire, Ryan resides in Brookline.
