Eamonn Ryan joined the Boston University staff in September 2024. As the Assistant Director, Strategic Communications, Ryan will serve as the primary contact for the track & field and cross country, women's lacrosse and men's tennis programs, while also contributing to the athletic department's graphic design and digital strategy efforts.
Ryan arrives to Comm. Ave. after graduating from Northeastern University in May 2024 with a bachelor of arts in journalism. Concurrently, he spent a year as the Northeastern Athletics Jack Grinold Athletic Communications Intern, working primarily with the track & field and cross country, women's swimming & diving and field hockey programs, beginning in August 2023. He also assisted heavily with the women's hockey and men's basketball programs, working the first Women's Beanpot championship game to be played at TD Garden. Previously, Ryan had served as an athletic communications co-op from July 2021 to December 2021.
In between his stints with Northeastern Athletics, Ryan also spent the summer of 2023 on Cape Cod with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he covered the team as a beat writer and worked on graphic design and social media strategy in the most prominent collegiate summer baseball league in the country. He also worked on the sports desk of the Boston Globe from July 2022 to May 2024, covering Eastern Massachusetts high school sports.
A native of Hooksett, New Hampshire, Ryan resides in the North End of Boston.
