Marcus Carrington 2025 Headshot

Marcus Carrington

Marcus Carrington arrived to Boston University in March of 2025. The 2025 campaign will mark his first in Terrier Town.

“I’m so excited to welcome Marcus to the BU women’s soccer family,” said head coach Megan Burke at the time of his hiring. “His passion for the game, experience and genuine care for player development will have an immediate impact on the program both on and off the field.”

In addition to his traditional coaching and recruiting duties, Carrington will work closely with the goalkeepers at BU. The Terriers have seen a goalkeeper capture All-Patriot League honors in two consecutive seasons with Celia Bruan (2023) and Bridget Carr (2024).

Carrington arrives to Commonwealth Ave. following one season as an assistant and goalkeeper coach at Yale. The Bulldogs went 8-7-1 that year as he oversaw the development of sophomore Kyla Holmes, who finished the campaign ranked second and third in the Ivy League with an 0.89 goals-against average and .805 save percentage, respectively.

Prior to his time at Yale, Carrington spent two seasons at Fairfield as an assistant and goalkeeper coach. During his tenure, the Stags were 24-10-4 with a 16-3-1 record in conference play and reached the MAAC Championship final in 2023. Carrington helped Katie Wright grow into an All-MAAC Third Team selection as a freshman in 2022 and rank second in the conference with seven shutouts a year later.

Outside of the collegiate landscape, Carrington was recently the Technical Director and Director of Goalkeeping at the Connecticut Football Club in the fall of 2024. He developed training curricula and mentored coaching staffs in addition to leading the goalkeeping program at Inter Connecticut FC in the National Academy League, the second tier of MLS NEXT.

Carrington graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in sports management following his career on the Purple Knights’ men’s soccer team. He went on to earn his Master’s degree at Fairfield.
