
BU Athletic Hall of Fame Inducts Class of 2017

BOSTON – Six distinguished Terriers officially became members of the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame as four standout athletes, an administrator and the Hall's first-ever head coach comprised the 52nd induction class on Saturday afternoon in the Francis D. Burke Club Room at Agganis Arena.
Terrier All-Americans Bob Danville '82 (men's track & field), Matt Gilroy '09 (men's hockey), Robyn Kenney '01 (field hockey) and April Setterlund '11 (softball) were joined by longtime distance running coach Bruce Lehane and former administrator Dick Fecteau '51 in this year's class.
BU alum and former distance runner Elliot Lehane ('13) accepted the blazer for his father, Bruce, who passed away in September following a lengthy battle with ALS. BU Athletic Hall of Fame member Marti Shea ('85) also came to the stage to say a few words.
Currently playing overseas in the KHL and with USA Hockey at next week's Deutschland Cup, Matt Gilroy was unable to attend, but his father, Frank, was on hand to accept the jacket.
Before the new inductees were formally introduced, BU recognized six others with special awards for their accomplishments and support of Terrier Athletics.
Following more than three decades of service to Boston University, men's basketball alum David Walko ('68) received the Roger "Moose" Washburn Memorial Award, while current BU Athletics broadcaster Brian Maurer ('07) was recognized with the Murray Kramer Memorial Award. Entering her 13th season at the helm, BU Director of Track & Field Robyne Johnson is this year's recipient of the William French Memorial Award.
Recent women's lacrosse graduate Charlotte Castronovo ('17) and men's tennis alum Jake De Vries ('17) were honored with the Aldo "Buff" Donelli Memorial Leadership Award. Finally, men's lacrosse senior Ryan Hilburn was tabbed the recipient of the Irv Heller BU Athletic Hall of Fame Scholarship.
