After claiming the individual title at the Patriot League Championship, sophomore Paul Luevano of the men’s cross country team has been named the GoTerriers.com Student–Athlete of the Week.
Luevano is the first Terrier male since Jochen Dieckfoss in 2003 to win an individual conference championship. The Los Angeles native finished the 8K race with a time of 24:01.23, over 15 seconds ahead of the second-place competitor.
In a truly dominant performance, Luevano surged ahead of the field at the two-mile mark and ran by himself the last three miles of the race en route to the win.
