Thigpin completed her second season as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.
Working primarily with post players, Thigpin guided sophomore Nia Irving to lead the Patriot League in field goal percentage and earn All-Patriot League Third Team honors.
In her first season on staff, she assisted in guiding the Terriers to a 10-game turnaround, while Sophie Beaudry, Sarah Hope and Nia Irving earned All-Patriot League honors.
Thigpin came to BU after spending the last two seasons as the head coach at Dixie State in Utah, an NCAA Division II school in the Pacific West Conference. In total, she worked with the Trailblazers for three seasons, coming on as an assistant in 2013, and coached in the PacWest conference for five years, spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Fresno Pacific.
In just two years as the head coach at DSU, Thigpin coached an All-PacWest First Team member, D2CCA All-West Region Second Team member and a CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team selection. She led the team to a 17-35 overall record and a 16-24 conference result over the last two seasons.
Prior to her collegiate coaching career, Thigpin spent three seasons as the head coach of Buchanan High School in Clovis, California. In 2009, she led the Bears to a 22-7 record, the most wins in school history, and reached the final four of the Central Section playoffs.
Thigpin is a 2007 graduate of Fresno State, playing her senior season with the Bulldogs after transferring from Arizona State. She played every game for the Sun Devils as a sophomore and junior and had a standout performance during the 2003-04 season when she scored 18 points in 15 minutes to lead ASU to an upset win over No. 7 Stanford.
