The Boston University Softball Field, which serves as home to the Terrier softball team, has provided a decided home-field advantage since its opening in 1990 and renovation in the winter of 2001. Converted from Astroturf to a natural grass outfield/all-dirt infield, the BU Softball Field has served as home to four of the Terriers' 14Â conference tournament title victories in 2012, 2018, 2019 and 2021.
Before the 2020 season, the field was entirely re-sodded and saw the additions of a new scoreboard and batting cage. The Daktronics 13HD video board is an 8.5 x 27.5 foot display that features a virtual customizable stat bar. The installation will allow improved WiFi accessibility to dugouts and the press box and will include a retractable netting system to protect it from getting hit during practices.
Overall, the Terriers are an impressive 384-116-1 (.774) at home, highlighted by perfect 18-0 records in both 2002 and 2019. BU has posted a winning home record in all but one season (1990).
