According to one Sargent College alumnus, Betty Schweitzer was a "standout athlete.

"No question, Betty was one of the all-time Sargent greats," the alumnus said.

Schweitzer holds the Athletic Association White Blazer as confirmation of her achievements on the playing fields. She competed for Sargent College in softball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, basketball, volleyball, speedball, archery and tennis. She played on all the interclass teams at college and at camp. In field hockey, she was a member of the All-Star Field Hockey team and a member of the Boston Field Hockey Association.

Schweitzer was deeply involved with athletics at Sargent College. She served as president, vice president, business manager and assistant manager of the Athletic Association. Besides her athletic endeavors, she was also a College Council representative, a member of the Honor Auxiliary and Salutatorian of her graduation class.
