Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame

Robert Marquis
- Induction:
- 1967
- Class:
- 1960
When Harry Cleverly discovered Robert "Bob" Marquis playing high school hockey on Canadian ice, he was impressed by his speed, skating and scoring ability.
In his three years on Varsity at Boston University, he managed to score 98 goals (which remained a record as one of the top number of goals in a career at the time of his induction) and rake in 164 points.
He was selected on the All-America Teams as a sophomore and junior. In his senior year, Marquis led the Terriers to third place in the NCAA championship. Despite the fact that he was the top scorer, he was overlooked as a first string All-American, which caused great controversy.
When Marquis graduated in 1960 he passed up an opportunity to join the NHL to work with General Electric.
