Against the Davidson Roundball Invitational Field - Marshall University - Marshall leads the all-time series, 1-0... The Thundering Herd won the series' only meeting, 62-51, in the opening round of the University of Central Florida Holiday Classic on January 2, 1991.

Terriers in the Tar Heel State The Davidson Roundball Invitational marks only the second time that B.U. has traveled to the state of North Carolina... In the Terriers' first visit on January 2, 1988, the Terriers lost to Duke University, 73-58.
In-Season Tournament History B.U. has played in 33 in-season tournaments... The Terriers are 31-37 in in-season tournaments... The last time B.U won an in-season tournament occurred during the 1984-85 season, when the Terriers defeated North Florida, 69-57, on December 27, 1984 and Central Florida, 69-59, on December 28 to win the Queens Holiday Classic... Last weekend, Margaret McKeon's squad competed in the Fresno State Classic.
Fresno State Classic Recap FRESNO, CA- The Terriers lost both games of the Fresno State Classic, losing to Fresno State, 83-57, last Saturday, and Boise State, 59-58, last Sunday... In the loss to Fresno, B.U. shot a season-low 34.9 % (22-of-63)... Alison Dixon led three Terriers in double figures with 16 points. Jen Tulley added a season-high 15 points, and Anne Nelson also registered a season-high with 10 points and seven rebounds... Against Boise State, B.U. shot a blistering 63.6 % (14-of-22) from the floor in the first half, en route to a 34-32 halftime lead...In the second half, however, the Terriers managed to shoot just 24 % (6-of-25) and failed to score in the final 2:17 and lost to Boise State, 59-58... B.U. led 58-53 with 2:17 remaining, but the Lady Broncs converted a layup and four free throws to score the win... Dixon led B.U. in scoring for the second straight game with 14 points ...Freshman Rachel Werner also scored a career-high 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss... Dia Dufault collected a game-high eight rebounds... Dixon was named to the Fresno State Classic All-Tournament Team.
1999-2000 Captains Named Leading the Terriers into the 21st century this season will be sophomore guard Annie Tomasini and sophomore forward Anne Nelson.. Both players have started the first four games this season... Tomasini is averaging 2.3 ppg and 4.1 apg, while Nelson adds 5.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg.

Longest Road Trip Program History The Boston University women's basketball program is in the middle of a nine-game road trip...The trip began on Tuesday, November 23 as the Terriers defeated Harvard, 75-67, in Cambridge... The longest previous road trip occurred during the 1977-78 season, when B.U. played five games in an eight-game span...... After the Davidson Roundball Classic, the road trip continues on Thursday, December 9, when Margaret McKeon embarks on her first America East game at New Hampshire... Two days later, Terrier assistant coach Cindy Blodgett returns to Maine as B.U. takes on the Black Bears in Augusta... On Tuesday, December 14, B.U. will travel to Columbus, OH to play the Ohio State Buckeyes... The Terriers close out the 20th century and its road trip playing at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY on December 29.
Head Coach Margaret McKeon Hired on April 26, 1999, 31-year old Margaret McKeon is the fifth head coach in the history of the Boston University women's basketball program... A former standout point guard at St. John's University, McKeon brings a history of coaching success to the Terrier program... McKeon has served as an assistant coach at Arizona State (1991-93), the University of Houston (1993-95), and most recently, George Washington University (1995-99)... In four years at GW, McKeon helped the Colonials to three Atlantic-10 regular-season championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight finish in 1997 and a final number 10 ranking in the CNN/USA TODAY poll.
Terrier Dog Bites B.U. is shooting 79.4 % from the free-throw line (50-of-63) and 41.1 % from the floor (101-of-246)... The Terriers are shooting 80 % (8-of-10) from the free-throw line in the final two minutes... B.U. is out-rebounding its foes, 40.0 to 34.3.
First Half Phenoms The Terriers are shooting 45 % (54-of-124) from the field in the first half this season, as opposed to 37.5 % in the second half.
Quoting McKeon "It will obviously be a rebuilding year, but the team will be motivated and prepared. There are some young players on this team with good futures."
New Staff in Place McKeon has hired three assistants on her coaching staff - Jerry McLaughlin (Flagler 77) - Gabrielle Butler (Franklin & Marshall 85) and Cindy Blodgett (Maine 98)... A former head coach at Siena and Alaska-Anchorage, McLaughlin has also coached at Temple, New Mexico State, and Kentucky... Butler comes to B.U. after spending eight seasons as an assistant coach - the last four with Margaret McKeon - at George Washington University... Blodgett, who plays for the Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA, led Maine to four America East conference titles and four straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament...At Maine, Blodgett set 18 University of Maine records including scoring with 3005 points in 118 games for an average of 25.5 ppg... The point total currently ranks as the fifth-highest career total in NCAA Division I history.
Dixon's Scoring Ranks High Alison Dixon is currently the highest-scoring B.U. player after two seasons of play... Entering this season,Dixon had 819 points in 54 career games... Dixon and Jill Sosnak (95) (791 points in 52 games) are the only two Terriers to score more than 700 points in their first two seasons.
Dixon Nearing 1,000 Point Plateau With 14 points vs.Boise State last Sunday, Dixon now has 886 career points, to remain in 17th place on the Terriers' all-time scoring list. Next on the list is Lynn Bay (93), who scored 893 career points.
Twenty Something Junior forward Alison Dixon has scored 20 or more points in 30-of-58 career games for the Terriers.... Last season, Dixon scored 20 or more points in a game 11 times, including a career-high 30 points vs. Dartmouth on November 23... Last December, Dixon had a string of five straight 20-point games, tying a B.U. women's record... Debbie Miller (81) also had five straight 20-point efforts in 1979-80.
Dufault Delivers Sophomore guard Dia Dufault is second on the team in scoring (13.3 ppg) and third in free-throw percentage (73.3 %, 11-of-15)... In the season-opener against Colgate, Dufault equaled a career-high with 25 points in the Terriers' 78-58 win... At Harvard on November 23, Dufault netted 15 points, grabbed five rebounds, and had a career-high five steals, in B.U.'s 75-67 win.
There's More Than One Alison On This Team Freshman point guard Alison Argentieri is quiclky establishing her own identity for the Terriers... B.U. already had one Alison in Dixon, but Argentieri is certainly letting opponents know that there is more than one Alison on this team... Argentieri is leading the Terriers in minutes played (35.0 mpg), assists (22, 5.5 apg), and steals (13, 3,2 spg)... At Harvard, on November 23, Argentieri scored a career-high 21 points in leading B.U. to a 75-67 victory over the Crimson... Argentieri was 6-of-8 from the floor, 4-of-5 from three-point land, and made 5-of-6 from the free-throw line in the final :40.
Timely Tulley Sophomore guard Jen Tulley came off the bench last Saturday to score a season-high 15 points... Tulley is tied for third on the team in scoring with freshman Alison Argentieri at 10.3 ppg... She is shooting 87.8 % from the free-throw line this season (7-of-8)
Werner A Key Off The Bench Freshman forward Rachel Werner scored a career-high 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting and collected six rebounds in B.U.'s 59-58 loss to Boise State on Sunday, November 28... Werner has been coming off the bench this season to average, 8.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg... She is connecting on 44 % of field goal attempts (12-of-27) and 72.7 % of free-throw attempts (8-of-11)... Werner is averaging 22.0 minutes per game.
Good Handle Sophomore guard Annie Tomasini dished out six assists vs. Boise State on November 28 without turning the ball over... On the season, Tomasini is averaging 4.1 assists per game .... Averaging 22.0 minutes per game, Tomasini is turning the ball only three times a contest.
