Men's Basketball Holds Off Quinnipiac, 66-60

WASHINGTON (AP)(Nov. 24) - Reserve Matt Turner had a team-high 15 points and Paul Seymour added 14 as Boston University held off Quinnipiac 66-60 on Nov. 24 in the first round of the Red Auerbach Colonial Classic at George Washington.
Collin Charles came off the bench to match his career high with 18 points for Quinnipiac (0-2), which made just 18 of 54 shots from the field in the first meeting between the two New England schools.
Boston (3-0) will play the winner of Friday's late game between host George Washington and Howard.
The Terriers took the lead for good at 44-43 on a free throw by Derrick Breland with 10:00 left in the game. But Quinnipiac stayed within five points the rest of the way until BU's Stijin Dhondt (career-high 12 points) hit two free throws with 8.7 left to account for the final margin.
Turner had 11 of his points in the first half for BU. Jason Grochowalski had 10 points for the Terriers. Alphah East added eight points and nine rebounds for the Braves. Jared Grasso, who had 23 points last week against Connecticut, had just four points for Quinnipiac.
