Terhune Named America East Rookie of the Week

Second Consecutive Honor for Freshman Forward
BOSTON, MA (Nov. 29) - Boston University freshman forward Katie Terhune (Port Murray, NJ) was named America East Rookie of the Week on November 27 after a week in which she averaged 22 points and 4.5 rebounds at the First Tennessee Tournament in Nashville, TN on November 25-26. It marks the second-straight week in which Terhune has received Rookie of the Week honors.
In the first game of the First Tennessee Tournament against 25th-ranked Vanderbilt, Terhune led the Terriers with 14 points and contributed five rebounds in 26 minutes. In the consolation game versus Austin Peay, Turhune led the Terriers to their first win of the year with a season-high 30 points, including 6-for-9 shooting from the three point arc and 8-17 from the field in 34 minutes of play.
Terhune entered the tournament following an impressive showing in the B.U. Women's Basketball Invitational in which she broke the Terrier record for free throws made in a game with 17 while tying the mark for free throws attempted with 18. She led all scorers with 27 points in a 102-97 overtime loss to Miami University in the consolation game.
After the first four games of the season, Terhune leads the Terriers in scoring averaging 18.8 ppg. Terhune is also tied for the team lead in rebounds with 4.5 rpg. and leads the team in free throw percentage, converting on 33 of 35 opportunities (94.3%).
The Terriers, who are 1-3 following their victory over Austin Peay, next head to Dallas, Texas to compete in the SMU Hoops for the Cure Women's Basketball Tournament on December 1-2.
