Alison Dixon named Second Team All-Conference

Junior forward earns third post season honor
BURLINGTON, VT (March 8th) - Boston University junior forward Alison Dixon (Norwood, MA) has been named 1999-2000 America East Second Team All-Conference; it was announced today (March 8th) at the conference's awards luncheon in Burlington, VT. All balloting was conducted by the head coaches at the 10 America East schools.
For the 6-2 post player, the award is a sign of steady progress. As a freshman, Dixon became just the third Terriers to earn America East Rookie accolades. Last season, she earned America East Third Team laurels.
This season, Dixon has started all 27 games for the 7-20 Terriers, averaging team highs in points (17.0 ppg), rebounds (7.2 rpg), and field goal percentage (52.4 percent).
In her last 10 games, Dixon is averaging 17.4 ppg and 6.1 rpg, while shooting 56.7 percent (76-of-134) from the field. This season, she has led the Terriers in scoring 17 times, and has scored 20 or more points on seven occassions.
On January 2nd versus Drexel, Dixon became the second fastest Terrier to reach the 1,000-point plateau as she reached the milestone in her 65th game. At Hartford on February 17th, Dixon became the 8th Terrier to score 1,000 points and collect 500 rebounds in her career.
Entering tonight's America East play-in game vs. No. 7 Towson, Dixon has 1,275 career points and 526 career rebounds.
