Women's Swimming Shines in America East

The Boston University women's swimming and diving team took second place out of eight teams at the America East Championship meet February 18-20 in Newark, Delaware. The Terriers finished with 628 points, behind Northeastern with 707.
B.U. dominated the relays, taking first in both the 200 and 400 medley races and second in the 200 freestyle, with times of 1:48.68, 3:56.21, and 2:36.39, respectively. Strong individual efforts also secured the solid team finish.
Senior captain Abigail Clark (Baltimore, MD) led the Terriers with a win in the 100 breast stroke (1:04.39). Clark went undefeated in this event for the season. She also took second in the 50 freestyle (24.43), swam on the winning 200 medley team, and placed fourth in the 100 freestyle (53.68).
Junior Corey Cooper (Springfield, VA) captured first in the 500 freestyle (5:03.91). Cooper added fourth place finishes in both the 200 fly (2:10.71) and 200 freestyle (1:55.95).
Freshman Karissa Lopez (Santa Fe, NM) won the 200 fly (2:06.62), and took second in the 400 individual medley (4:33.27).
Boston University finished the season 5-3 overall. The Terriers will compete February 24-26 in the ECAC championship.
