Terrier Women Take First at Florida Meet

The Terrier women's swimming and diving team finished first at the 2002 Bob Mowerson Memorial Swim Meet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida which was held January 4th through 9th. B.U. edged the University of Toledo by just two points, 156-154, to capture the team title.
Junior Laurie Green (St. Johns, Newfoundland) won the 50 breast stroke with a time of 36.06, while classmate Karissa Lopez (Santa Fe, NM) placed second in the 50 butterfly in 31.09. Freshman Courtlandt McKinlay (Cheshire, CT) took third in the 50 backstroke with a time of 35.52, and junior Ingrid Salazar (Simi Valley, CA) was third in the 50 free at 29.44 seconds.
Sophomore Stacey Gallacher (Horseheads, NY) placed second out of 13 divers with a score of 267.90 points.
Also competing for the Terriers were: - Freshman Emily Moreno (Oakland, NJ), who finished the 50 butterfly in 31.89 and received 5th place - Freshman Lauren Foster (Lake Quivira, KS) came in seventh in the 50 butterfly with a time of 32.97 - Senior Akiko Abe (Palos Verdes, CA) had a time of 34.43 in the 50 butterfly and came in 9th place - Junior Melissa Sckolnik (Scottsdale, AZ) also swam in the 50 butterfly and took 10th place with a time of 34.70 - Freshman Hilary Habershaw (Hingham, MA), who swam the 50 backstroke in 36.87 and received 5th place - Senior Abligail Coxson (West Field, NJ) came in 6th place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 30.77 - Freshman Regina Kearney (Staten Island, NY) had a time of 31.47 in the 50 freestyle and came in 7th place - Senior Abligail Wieck (East Greenwich, RI) swam in the 50 freestyle in 34.08 seconds and came in 14th place - Sophomore Kristin Stratton (Aurora, CO) received 239.95 points and placed 5th in diving - Senior Bridget Nord (Bloomington, IL) came in 8th place in the diving competition with 216.95 points - Senior Heather Foley (Coon Rapids, MN) had 184.10 points and came in 10th place in diving - Freshman Kathleen Cunningham (West Islip, NY) placed 11th in the diving with 167.00 points
