Women's Swimming Falls To UMass-Amherst, 161-139

AMHERST, Mass.- The Boston University women's swimming team was downed by Massachusetts-Amherst, 161-139, on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 10) at Joseph R. Rogers Jr. Pool.
Boston University was led by junior Karissa Lopez with three individual victories in the 200-yard fly (2:06.67), 100-yard fly (58.69) and 200-yard IM (2:10.89). Other multiple winners for B. U. included junior Ingrid Salazar and Laurie Green. Salazar won the 1,000-yard free (10:46.29) and 500-yard free (5:14.79) while Green won the 100-yard back (1:07.79) and 200-yard back (2:25.09).
The Minutewomen won both relay events including the 200-yard medley relay (Rowell, Christen Dexter, Kazanjian, and Lizzy Boyle, 1.50.91) and 400-yard free relay (Hunnewell, Boyle, Molly Buckley and Anne Dettloff, 3:41.41).
Andrea Kazanjian led the Minutewomen with two individual victories, winning the 50-yard free (25.09) and 100-yard free (54.62). Other UMass winners included senior Becky Hunnewell in the 200-yard breast (2:10.70), junior Kate Allery in the one-meter dive (236.32) and sophomore Lauren Rowell in the 100-yard breast (1:01.70).
